Early Gothic-revival two-tier sewing stand attributed to Samuel Colt’s wicker business in Hartford CT.
Designed for a Victorain sewing room with baskets for storage of needlework. Entire stand may be
moved by the large carrying handle. Top covered basket not permanently attached to frame, to allow for
added portability. Made of various sized willow osiers, in the Colt trademark cluster of three.
Splayed legs and blunt feet, connected by a pyramid shaped stretcher.
